Believed to have been originally bred in sunny California, the Pink Runtz strain of cannabis is a well-balanced hybrid with massive THC levels. Created by combining popular parent strains, Gelato and Zkittlez (also known as The Original Z), Pink Runtz is a sweet and tasty variant of delicious dessert strains. The Pink Runtz strain became an instant classic, growing in popularity among the medicinal and recreational cannabis communities. Even though this strain hasn’t taken home any noteworthy awards, it has still become a commercial success all over the globe. Because the Pink Runtz strain was such a success, it was used to breed a whole family of Runtz cannabis strains. Using the genetics of Pink Runtz has led to variants such as Hawaiian Runtz, Cherry Runtz, Banana Runtz, and even Bubble Gum Runtz.

More About Our Pink Runtz Seeds And How To Grow Them

Pink Runtz has a sweet and tangy, candy-like flavor and aroma profile, and its creation led to other marijuana strains that taste like candy. Aptly named, Pink Runtz has the perfect flavor and aroma profile for folks who have a sweet tooth. The fruity aroma features notes of strawberries and citrus fruits like grapefruit and orange. The flavor is what you would expect, with a couple of notable surprises. The sweet and fruity taste lingers on the tongue as the aftertaste of vanilla follows. The smoke of this strain is smooth and not even a little overbearing. Cannabis fans who really appreciate the complexities of the flavor of this strain have said that it is one of the most enjoyable flavors in the cannabis kingdom.

Dominant Terpenes in Pink Runtz

Pink Runtz’s fruity and sweet candy flavor and similar aroma are created by its dominant terpenes. Its terpene profile is what gives the strain its specific flavors and scents, like berries and vanilla. The science behind this strain is unique, and a better understanding of the genetics of the strain can help you choose the right flavor and aroma profiles for your tastes. This strain features Pinene, which gives it an earthy and pine-like flavor and scent. Caryophyllene, which is commonly found in cinnamon and black pepper, gives off a spicy and peppery flavor and aroma. There is also Limonene in the terpene profile of this strain. You can find Limonene in the rinds of citrus fruits and cannabis. Limonene has a citrus taste and can improve lung function and help combat anxiety.

Energetic and Giggly

As an evenly balanced strain, Pink Runtz features a giddy and surreal feeling with a welcomed body buzz. Cerebrally, you will feel happy and uplifted while the Indica side of this strain makes your limbs feel calm and relaxed. Because the effects are more mental than physical, it is recommended that you use this strain in the mornings as a pick-me-up before you start your day. The body high you’ll get from Pink Runtz isn’t so strong that it will leave you feeling locked to the couch. You will have enough energy to attack the day while feeling happy and euphoric the entire time. IF you are looking for a solid wake-and-bake strain, then you have come to the right place. Pink Runtz is perfect for folks who want to catch a high while also being social and ambitious.

Sweet Like Candy

The shorter flowering period doesn’t affect the yields of this strain. Stronger than your average cannabis cultivar, Pink Runtz has a 22% THC content. If you are growing your cannabis indoors, you can expect to harvest around 450 grams per square meter. If you grow your bud outdoors, then you can anticipate harvesting nearly 550 grams per plant. It takes about 55-65 days to complete flowering if you grow your plants indoors. If you were to plant your seeds in late Spring, you should be ready to harvest around the middle of October. Dialing in the proper conditions indoors will help you grow a healthy harvest of potent and tasty buds. Growing this strain outdoors requires a bit more maintenance, but if you get the right humidity, temperature, sunlight, and fresh air, then you should harvest potent and delicious buds.

Ideal Conditions For Growing Pink Runtz Seeds

Pink Runtz cannabis plants can be grown successfully even by novice growers. This strain grows medium to tall, so whether it is grown indoors or outdoors, it requires ample space to thrive. This strain can reach heights of almost 6 feet tall, which means you will need to give it enough space to grow laterally and vertically to hit your anticipated yields. This strain performs better indoors than outdoors, but will grow similarly to an indoor plant if you have access to a greenhouse. While some cultivators prefer to grow in natural sunlight and fresh air similar to that of the Mediterranean, others prefer the more predictable, controlled environment of growing indoors. Ideally, the temperature should be between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, with relative humidity between 40-50%. If you are going to grow this strain indoors, you will need to replicate the ideal climate to hit its maximum growing potential. If your local weather is similar to these conditions, your crop will perform well outdoors. However, setting up your grow inside will help you keep the right temperature and humidity all day, every day. Sea of Green (SOG), Low-stress training (LST), and Screen of Green (ScrOG) training methods will help increase yields. Pink Runtz plants have heavy and dense buds that tend to bend without support from screens or stakes. You will want to add these techniques to your training regimen to ensure you get to harvest with healthy, THC-rich buds.

One of the frostiest plants I’ve grown so far. Grew two under a Spider Farmer SF2000 in 5-gallon pots with living soil. They stayed short and bushy through veg and absolutely exploded during flower. The terp profile came on strong — earthy, spicy, and a bit herbal. Only knock was one of them showed signs of slight cal/mag deficiency around week 5 of flower, but it was easy to fix with a foliar spray. Final smoke hits heavy and smooth.

Honestly surprised how much weight I got from a single plant in a 3-gallon pot. Used basic dry amendments and it seemed to thrive. One of the few runs where I didn’t have to chase any deficiencies. The canopy was super even and the nugs fattened up fast. I did use a filter because the smell gets LOUD around week 6. The high is mellow, not overwhelming — more of a sink-into-the-couch kind of chill than full knockout.

Short internodes, thick leaves, and decent lateral branching made this an ideal candidate for LST.

I had a decent run overall. Germination was 2/2 and both plants grew evenly. I topped them once and they responded well, staying compact and manageable in a 2×4 tent. Flowering took just over 9 weeks. Buds were chunky, easy to trim, and smelled loud by week 7. My only minor issue was they seemed a little hungry for potassium, but that’s probably my mix. The final product was relaxing and flavorful — perfect nighttime vibe.

This one was part of my “test everything” grow and held up like a champ. I stressed it a few times — overwatering early on and a pH issue mid-veg — and it just kept going. Super resilient. The structure was solid, didn’t need much defoliation. I dried it slowly over 10 days and the flavor really came through after curing: earthy and woody with a calming effect that settles in slowly. Would definitely recommend for folks wanting a smooth indoor grow with minimal fuss.

Honestly just wanted something fruity for my daytime stash, but this one gave me that plus heavy crystal production and a pretty balanced high. Easy to train, responded well to topping, and had zero herm issues. The colors started showing in week 7 and it was eye candy through harvest.

It likes a lot of sun and the buds came out dense and sticky. only downside was the strong smell during flowering.

Got 3 seeds, and all of them popped quick and strong. Didn’t expect that kind of uniformity.
