The Skywalker OG cannabis strain was originally bred in Amsterdam but found its way to California in the early 2000s, where it became popular and widely available for purchase. The clever combination of legendary parent strains, Skywalker and OG Kush, the Indica-dominant hybrid boasts a massive THC content, which is one of the main reasons it is a huge hit in the cannabis community. Since its inception over 20 years ago, Skywalker OG has won nearly 50 major awards and is recognized in the cannabis community for its potency, flavor, aroma, and the way it grows. Description

More About Our Skywalker OG Seeds And How To Grow Them

Skywalker OG has a very unique flavor and aroma profile that is the result of its genetic composition and its terpenes. Because it features Kush lineage, it has a pungent and earthy aroma. The complex aroma has many layers as you break the buds apart through your final hit. Breaking the buds apart releases a spicy, herbal scent with notes of pine. Combusting the buds gives off a skunky, sweet aroma that fills the air quickly. You may even smell some citrus notes at the very end of your smoke session. The flavor is similar to the aroma in that it is earthy and citrusy, woody and spicy. As the smoke fills your mouth, you will get the taste of sweet fruit and berries. Upon your final exhale and within the aftertaste, you’ll get a hoppy and peppery finish. While most cannabis varieties have multiple flavors and aromas, none can compete with the complexity of Skywalker OG.

Dominant Terpenes in Skywalker OG

Skywalker OG’s earthy and herbal citrusy flavor and skunky and pungent aroma are created by its dominant terpenes. Its terpene profile is what gives the strain its specific flavors and scents, like berries and sweet fruit. The science behind this strain is unique, and a better understanding of the genetics of the strain can help you choose the right flavor and aroma profiles for your tastes. This strain features Myrcene, which gives it an earthy and herbal flavor and scent. Beta-Caryophyllene, which is commonly found in cinnamon and black pepper, gives off a spicy and peppery flavor and aroma. There is also Limonene in the terpene profile of this strain. You can find Limonene in the rinds of citrus fruits and cannabis. Limonene has a citrus taste and can improve lung function and help combat anxiety.

Happy and Relaxed Euphoria

As an Indica-dominant strain, Skywalker OG features a mellow, chilled-out buzz. Even though the strain is only 20% Sativa, it boasts a well-balanced buzz. Cerebrally, you will feel happy and uplifted while the Indica side of this strain makes you feel calm and relaxed. Before you know it, you will feel so relaxed that you will melt into the couch, so make sure you use this strain at night before bedtime. Couch-lock is a side effect of Skywalker OG, and so is hunger. Make sure you have some snacks close by. If you suffer from anxiety and insomnia, then you have come to the right place. Skywalker OG is great at helping users get to sleep and feel well-rested the following morning.

Universally Loved

The longer-than-average flowering period leads to hefty yields of high-quality bud. One of the strongest strains in the galaxy, Skywalker OG is famous for being uber-potent. If you are growing your cannabis indoors, you can expect to harvest around 450 grams per square meter. If you grow your bud outdoors, then you can anticipate harvesting nearly 800 grams per plant. It takes about 60-70 days to complete flowering if you grow your plants indoors. If you were to plant your seeds in late Spring, you should be ready to harvest around the end of October. Dialing in the proper conditions indoors will help you grow a healthy harvest of delicious buds. Growing this strain outdoors requires a bit more maintenance, but if you get the right humidity, temperature, sunlight, and fresh air, then you should harvest potent and delicious buds.

Ideal Conditions For Growing Skywalker OG Seeds

Skywalker OG cannabis plants can be grown successfully by experienced growers. This strain grows medium to tall, so whether it is grown indoors or outdoors, it requires ample space to thrive. This strain can reach heights of almost 6 feet tall, which means you will need to allow it to grow both vertically and laterally to hit your desired yields. This strain performs better indoors than outdoors, but will grow similarly to an indoor plant if you have access to greenhouse growing conditions. While some cultivators prefer to grow in natural sunlight and fresh air similar to that of the Mediterranean, others prefer the more predictable, controlled environment of growing indoors. Ideally, the temperature should be between 68 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with relative humidity between 40-60%. If you are going to grow this strain indoors, you will need to replicate the perfect climate to hit its growing potential. If your local weather is similar to these conditions, your crop will perform well outdoors. However, setting up your grow inside will help you keep the right temperature and humidity every day. Staking and topping are the perfect training techniques for this notoriously heavy bud. Staking your bud will support the heavy colas and prevent them from snapping or breaking off at the stem. Topping is also a good choice because it promotes bushier growth and thicker, fuller buds, which lead to increased yields.

Ordered a 5-pack, and only 4 popped, but I’m still happy. The four that did germ were vigorous and healthy. I grew them outdoors in 10-gallon pots with dry organic amendments. The plants stayed medium height and didn’t need much training. They finished with thick, frosty colas and this deep, earthy aroma. Smoke is smooth and relaxing — I’d describe it as ‘heavy without the fog.’ Only small downside was the one dud seed.

I started two from seed in a coco/perlite mix, and both were uniform in size and structure. They took to topping easily and responded well to moderate feeding. By week 6 of flower, the smell was thick and skunky with a peppery twist. Harvested at 9.5 weeks and got dense, resin-coated nugs. Not the most beginner-friendly plant in terms of nutrients, but with careful feeding, it absolutely delivers. The buzz is relaxing but functional.

This was my third run in a 4×4 tent and easily the most hands-off plant in the whole cycle. Germination was fast, and the seedling was strong from day one. It handled topping and LST like a pro. I did notice it was a little slower to stack during early flower, but it came through heavy by the end. The smell got intense around week 7 — strong pine with earthy undertones. Only minor issue was the drying time; the buds were super dense and took longer than expected to fully cure. Still, the smoke is clean and the high is calm but not sleepy. Really good balance.

This thing got bulky quick. Grew thick and short but still pushed out huge colas that stank up the whole room. Ended up with sticky nugs and a smooth smoke that’s heavy behind the eyes. Great for evening use. It also flushed really clean, which made the cure even better. Trim wasn’t too bad either.

Ran it in a 3×3 with LED and got a nice compact structure. Didn’t even top it and still pulled good weight.

Got this one as a freebie and now I wish I had ordered more. Big yield, nice clean smoke, and no fuss at all.

Honestly, this one surprised me. Strongest plant in the tent and handled all my overwatering mistakes like a champ.

Very strong smell during flower — definitely keep a carbon filter handy.

Grew it in a solo cup challenge just for fun, and it still packed on frost. Tight internodes and surprisingly good yield.

Great structure and easy trim job. Dense flowers, very little fluff.

This was part of my second grow ever, and I couldn’t have picked a better strain for learning. It bounced back from a humidity drop and even handled light stress without any major issues. I had to prune the lower branches more than I expected, but that helped improve airflow. Once cured, the buds smelled like earth and diesel. The high is heavy in the body but not too sedating. It’s not a huge yielder, but the quality more than makes up for it.

This one caught me off guard in the best way. I ran two side-by-side in a 4×2 tent with HLG lighting. Both germinated within 36 hours and took off fast. The stretch in early flower was serious — I had to raise my lights twice in a week — but the final structure was impressive. I did get a bit of tip burn from overfeeding, so I recommend easing off nutrients mid-flower. The buds cured out dense and sticky, and the effect is deep but not sleepy. Really nice for unwinding after work.

I grew this as part of a multi-strain indoor run. This one was by far the frostiest in the tent. Germination was quick, and early veg growth was fast and aggressive. I used SCROG to control the stretch and it filled the net beautifully. Smelled like pine and gas by week 7 of flower. Slight nutrient sensitivity, especially with phosphorus during late bloom — so go easy. That said, the smoke is potent and relaxing, perfect for evening use. Definitely earned a spot in my keeper list.
