White Rhino got its name from how frosty the buds look—thick white resin covers the plant like snow. It’s mostly indica, made by crossing White Widow with an unknown landrace. It started in Amsterdam with Green House Seeds, but really blew up in the U.S. in the late ’90s. It’s picked up a few trophies too, like the 1996 Cannabis Cup and 2005 Spannabis.

More About Our White Rhino Seeds And How To Grow Them

White Rhino offers a sweet and pungent aroma that is similar to other strains created in the 1990s. That old-school flavor and aroma are fan favorites among true cannabis enthusiasts. As soon as you break apart the buds of this plant, you will get a strong whiff of skunkiness with hints of pine. The flavor of this strain is similar to the aroma, boasting notes of citrus, earth, pine, and an underlying sweetness that cannabis fans truly love. The more you smoke this bud, the skunkier the taste will become, and even though earth and skunk are the main flavors of White Rhino, the aftertaste and smoke won’t taste harsh on the tongue. White Rhino offers one of the smoother smokes in the entire marijuana marketplace. The complex flavor and aroma have a bit of spice within them, only when smoked. Enjoying this strain in edible form will eliminate the spiciness from the flavor profile.

Dominant Terpenes in White Rhino

White Rhino’s flavor is spicy and skunky, and is created by the dominant terpenes within its genetic makeup. Its terpene profile is what gives the strain its specific flavors and scents, like pine and citrus. The science behind this strain is incredibly complex, and a better understanding of the genetics of the strain can help you choose the right flavor and aroma profiles for your tastes. Caryophyllene is one of the most dominant terpenes in White Rhino and can be found in cinnamon and black pepper. Caryophyllene has a flavor and aroma that is spicy and peppery. Myrcene, which is known as “The Mother of all Terpenes,” gives off an earthy flavor and aroma when found in cannabis. You can find Limonene in White Rhino as well as the rinds of citrus fruits. Limonene gives off a citrus smell and flavor and can also help with anxiety and improve lung function when found in cannabis.

A Rare Indica Hybrid

White Rhino is almost entirely Indica, making it a relaxing strain that promotes happiness and euphoria. With a high THC content, the euphoric feeling you get from this buzz is long-lasting. The buzz is mostly physical, with 80% of its genetic makeup being Indica. You’ll feel a small amount of creativity and focus, but the rest of the high is going to calm your nerves and help with aches and pains in the body. Designed to be used at nighttime, this strain will help relax the entire body, making it easier to catch a restful night’s sleep. If you suffer from insomnia and a racing mind, then White Rhino cannabis is going to be your best bet at combating those issues. Make sure you use this strain close to your couch or bed because it does have the ability to put you to sleep after a while.

Skunky Nugs

White Rhino plants produce massive yields of high-quality buds that are as potent as they are skunky and pungent. The resin that coats the exterior of the buds is bright white, which is one of the reasons why the strain is called White Rhino. If you are growing your cannabis indoors, you can expect to harvest around 900 grams per square meter. If you grow your bud outdoors, then you can anticipate harvesting just shy of 1200 grams per plant. Its flowering time is longer than most, taking around 60-70 days to complete if you grow your plants indoors. If you were to plant your seeds in late Spring, you should be ready to harvest around the end of October. Dialing in the proper conditions indoors will help you grow massive yields of super-potent buds. It doesn’t matter where you choose to grow your plants because both indoor and outdoor grows produce huge yields.

Ideal Conditions For Growing White Rhino Seeds

White Rhino cannabis plants are difficult to grow for first-time cultivators. These plants grow somewhat tall and can reach maximum heights of 6 feet, which means you’ll need to provide ample room for these plants to fully grow. White Rhino plants perform equally well indoors and outdoors.

Outdoor plants will grow similarly to indoor plants if you have access to a greenhouse where the climate and height can be controlled. While some cultivators prefer to grow their cannabis plants in natural sunlight and fresh air, others prefer the more predictable and easy-to-manipulate indoor growing climate.

Whether you grow indoors or outdoors, you are going to need a climate that is similar to the Mediterranean. Ideally, the temperature should be between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The relative humidity should be between 30% and 60%. If you are going to grow this strain indoors, you will need to replicate the warm and humid climate these plants are naturally used to.

If your local weather is similar to its ideal conditions, your crop will perform exceptionally well outdoors. However, setting up your grow inside or in a greenhouse will help remove outdoor variables from the equation. Topping and Low-stress training (LST) can help with the success of this particular strain. Each promotes better light penetration and quality air flow. These methods will also increase your yields when it comes time to harvest.

I started this one in mid-winter using only a windowsill and a 100W clamp light. It was meant as a low-effort test. To my surprise, it handled the cold nights and pushed out thick foliage early. It stayed low, didn’t stretch much, and formed a tight, dense structure that looked almost like a bonsai by week 5. The smell took time to show but developed into an earthy, slightly medicinal funk with a hint of black pepper. Smoke was full body, relaxing, and clear-headed.

Germinated five, four cracked fast, fifth was slow but made it. Grew squat and strong — perfect for my short 2×2 tent. I did minimal training and still got an even canopy. Smelled like piney cocoa in late flower, mellowed into a musky, earthy cure. Final smoke is smooth and calming. Yield was average at 85g. Only hiccup was a calcium issue during veg, but nothing serious. Solid choice for a low-maintenance indoor run.

This is my second grow ever, and I’m glad I picked this one. It stayed compact enough for my 2×2 tent but still produced nice thick buds. Smelled like citrus and fuel by week 7. Easy to trim and no signs of stress even after missing a watering.
