The Apple Fritter strain was originally bred by Lumpy’s Flowers in Northern California around 2013. By combining potent and popular parent strains Sour Apple and Animal Cookies, breeders brought to life a slightly Indica-dominant hybrid with delicious flavor profiles and an aroma that smells like the pastry of the same name. The high THC content and low CBD content add to the depth of this strain. Apple Fritter has won several major cannabis awards, including a second-place finish for Best Hybrid at the 2016 High Times Northern California Cup. It also took home Best Hybrid at the 2016 and 2017 High Times Cannabis Cup. Because this strain is a modern commercial cannabis variety, it boasts a 28% THC content, but its potency doesn’t sacrifice flavor or aroma. If you are looking for a strong and delicious marijuana strain to add to your daily routine, you can’t go wrong with Apple Fritter.

Description

More About Our Apple Fritter Seeds And How To Grow Them

With one of the highest THC contents in the cannabis universe, Apple Fritter is more than just a treat to folks who have a sweet tooth. While it should be noted that the 28% THC count is massive, Apple Fritter is more well-known for its flavor and aroma profiles. The aroma features an initial scent of freshly picked apples. As the flowers burn, you will get notes of spice, earth, and citrus. The initial taste of this bud is similar to the aroma of apples. The more you enjoy this strain, the more layered you realize it is. With hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and even mint, the complexity of this pastry-esque herb is a fan favorite among users and growers.  The unique flavor and aroma are specific to Apple Fritter as it is unlike any other marijuana variety in the world.

Dominant Terpenes in Apple Fritter

Apple Fritter’s flavor is fruity and sweet, and is created by the dominant terpenes within its genetic makeup. Its terpene profile is what gives the strain its specific flavors and scents, like cinnamon and nutmeg. The science behind this strain is complex, and a better understanding of the genetics of the strain can help you choose the right flavor and aroma profiles for your tastes. Phellandrene is the most dominant terpene, which has a spicy flavor and aroma and is similar to peppermint. Beta-Caryophyllene, which is commonly found in cinnamon and black pepper, gives off a spicy and peppery flavor and aroma. There is also Limonene in the complex terpene profile of this strain, and it is actually the second most dominant terpene in Apple Fritter. You can find Limonene in the rinds of citrus fruits and cannabis. Limonene is known for having an effect on anxiety and can help improve lung function.

Creative Juices

Apple Fritter is mostly Indica at 60%, but the 40% Sativa genetics add a lot to the effects of this strain. You will get a boost of creativity, which makes this strain perfect for artists and musicians. The euphoric head and body high is strong and will have you smiling from ear to ear. The balanced high you get from this bud only adds to its highly desirable flavor and aroma. The high is long-lasting and will eventually lead you to the couch, where you can easily unwind after a long day. Veteran cannabis users recommend using this strain at night because it will make you melt into the couch after a while. If you use it as a wake-and-bake bud, you should make sure you don’t have any important responsibilities to tend to during the day. Medicinally, this strain is used for aches and pains, cramps, headaches, and even a loss of appetite. Have some snacks close by so you can curb that hunger from a case of the munchies.

Orange and Green Nuggs

Apple Fritter seeds grow into plants that feature dense buds with bright orange pistils or hairs throughout. If left unattended, these plants have the potential to reach heights of 5 feet. If trimmed and clipped properly, you can manage these typically short plants and even grow multiple plants in a smaller area to double or triple your yields. If you are growing your cannabis indoors, you can expect to harvest around 400 grams per square meter. If you grow your bud outdoors, then you can anticipate harvesting just shy of 450 grams per plant. It has a shorter flowering time, taking only 55-65 days to complete flowering if you grow your plants indoors. If you were to plant your seeds in late Spring, you should be ready to harvest around the beginning of October. Dialing in the proper conditions indoors will help you grow potent buds. Growing this strain outdoors requires the same time and effort as indoor grows, but under the correct conditions, you should see hefty yields of high-quality herb.

Ideal Conditions For Growing Apple Fritter Seeds

Apple Fritter cannabis plants are easy to grow if you have prior experience cultivating your own cannabis. These plants grow short and can reach maximum heights of 5 feet, which means you can grow more than one plant at a time in a smaller grow space. Apple Fritter plants perform equally well indoors and outdoors. Outdoor plants will grow similarly to indoor plants if you have access to a greenhouse where the climate can be monitored. While some cultivators prefer to grow in natural sunlight and fresh air similar to that of a California summer, others prefer the more predictable and easy-to-manipulate indoor growing environment. Ideally, the temperature should be between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The relative humidity should be between 40% and 60%. If you are going to grow this strain indoors, you will need to replicate the warm and semi-humid climate these plants are used to. If your local weather is similar to its preferred conditions, your crop will perform exceptionally well outdoors. However, setting up your grow inside or in a greenhouse will help remove outdoor variables from the equation. When it comes to cultivation, this hybrid should respond well to both the Screen of Green (SCroG) method and trellising. These techniques will help adjust plants to get the most sunlight and airflow possible by adding a screen to the top of the grow and moving the branches.

Short plant with tight node spacing. Terps were heavy apple up front, with a nutty backend. Strong, balanced effects.

Seeds took 10 days to arrive. Box was fine, but inside the container had opened slightly, and one seed was chipped. I reached out and got a discount code for the next order — not a replacement though, which I expected. The three good seeds cracked fast. Grew in 5-gallon coco. Structure was tight, low stretch. Terps leaned more earthy than fruity on one plant, but the other smelled like apple pastry. High is focused but mellow. Good afternoon strain.

The packaging looked like a regular padded mailer, but inside the seeds were vacuum-sealed and labeled with QR codes, which was a first for me. Scanned them and got full strain info on the spot. Germed 4/4 using peat plugs. Plants were stout early on and responded well to topping. By flower, they had this warm baked apple smell with a gassy edge. One pheno had minor leaf curl from heat, but bounced back. Pulled 139g from my top one.

Germinated straight in moist paper towel. One cracked in 24 hours, others in 36. Grew sturdy with wide spacing. Buds filled in quick after week five and gave off this warm, sweet bakery aroma. Didn’t get much purple like I hoped, but trichome coverage was top-tier. Slight phosphorus deficiency mid-bloom, fixed with a bloom booster. Final result: 126g. Smooth draw with a doughy apple taste. Puts you in a good mood without knocking you flat.

Dense buds with a creamy apple flavor. Didn’t stretch much. Harvested at day 65. High is social and giggly.

Burned slow and clean. Sweet inhale, earthy exhale. Left a sugary aftertaste that hung around. Solid mid-day smoke.

Hands down, one of the easiest plants I’ve grown. It didn’t mind being topped twice, recovered quickly from low humidity, and was already stacking frost by week 6. It’s the kind of plant that makes you feel like a pro even if you’re winging it.
