More About Our Gelato 44 Seeds And How To Grow Them
Gelato 44 is so potent that it is like taking an uppercut to the dome. With a 22% THC content, this potent hybrid boasts some pretty fantastic flavors and aromas. If you were to walk into an ice cream parlor and take a deep breath, you would smell the same scents as the Gelato 44 strain. Its sweet and creamy smoke is a pleasure to enjoy as it releases a gassy and sweet aroma with notes of vanilla. The flavor and aroma aren’t as complex as other marijuana strains. There are a ton of similarities between the flavor and aroma, so if you enjoy a bit of sweetness with the skunky and pungent aroma of old-school cannabis, then you are going to thoroughly enjoy Gelato 44. It’s amazing to think that this strain originated from Mike Tyson’s personal stock to be one of the most sought-after cannabis varieties in the world.
Dominant Terpenes in Gelato 44
Gelato 44’s old-school flavor is gassy and sweet, and is created by the dominant terpenes within its genetic makeup. Its terpene profile is what gives the strain its specific flavors and scents, like diesel and vanilla. The science behind this strain is complex, and a better understanding of the genetics of the strain can help you choose the right flavor and aroma profiles for your tastes. This strain features Pinene, which is the most dominant terpene in Gelato 44. Pinene gives off a pine-like aroma and flavor and is most commonly found in pine needles. Myrcene is the secondary terpene, which has an earthy flavor and aroma and is a monoterpene mostly found in cannabis plants. Caryophyllene, which is commonly found in cinnamon and black pepper, gives off a spicy and peppery flavor and aroma. There is also Limonene in the complex terpene profile of this strain, and it is actually one of the most dominant terpenes in this strain. You can find Limonene in the rinds of citrus fruits and cannabis. Limonene is known for having an effect on anxiety and can help improve lung function.
A Happy High
Gelato 44 is mostly Indica at 75%, but the 25% Sativa genetics add a lot to the effects of this strain. Cerebrally, you will feel happy and euphoric. Physically, you will feel a mellow vibe wash over your body, making it easy to relax and disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. The initial buzz will have you feeling extroverted and social. As the high continues, you’ll feel relaxed but not so tired that you need to find your bed. It does help with stress, anxiety, depression, and even insomnia. You can use this strain anytime, day or night, and even though it leans more towards the Indica effect, it won’t make you feel lethargic and unenergized. If you enjoy a case of the giggles and need a quick boost before you head out for the night, then you’re going to want to enjoy a few puffs of Gelato 44.
Happy Harvests
Gelato 44 seeds grow into plants that feature long, cylinder-shaped buds. The buds are dense and dank and release a gassy aroma when harvested. These plants grow medium to tall, and upon your harvest, you will need to clip and dry the massive buds. If you are growing your cannabis indoors, you can expect to harvest around 450 grams per square meter. If you grow your bud outdoors, then you can anticipate harvesting just shy of 600 grams per plant. It has a shorter flowering time, taking only 50-65 days to complete flowering if you grow your plants indoors. Even with the shorter grow time, the buds are bigger than your average cannabis plants. If you were to plant your seeds in late Spring, you should be ready to harvest around the end of September. Dialing in the proper conditions indoors will help you grow potent buds. Growing this strain outdoors requires the same time and effort as indoor grows, but under the correct conditions, you should see hefty yields of high-quality herb.
Ideal Conditions For Growing Gelato 44 Seeds
Gelato 44 cannabis plants are easy to grow if you have prior experience cultivating your own cannabis. These plants grow medium to tall and can reach heights of between 3 and 6 feet, which means you will need ample vertical space for these plants to hit their peak. Gelato 44 plants perform equally well indoors and outdoors. Outdoor plants will grow similarly to indoor plants if you have access to a greenhouse where the climate can be meticulously monitored. While some cultivators prefer to grow in natural sunlight and fresh air similar to that of a California summer, others prefer the more predictable and easy-to-manipulate environment of growing indoors. Ideally, the temperature should be between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and slightly cooler at night. Because these plants are so versatile, they can withstand temperatures as low as 55 degrees. The relative humidity should be between 30% and 60%. If you are going to grow this strain indoors, you will need to replicate the warm and semi-humid climate these plants are used to. If your local weather is similar to its preferred conditions, your crop will perform exceptionally well outdoors. However, setting up your grow inside or in a greenhouse will help you keep the right lighting, humidity, and temperature throughout the grow. Techniques such as pruning, topping, and Low-stress training (LST) will help to control the height of your plants by altering the canopy to allow light to penetrate to the bottom buds.

Super frosty and loud from mid flower. Needed a little extra airflow but worth the hassle.

First time trying this breeder, and I have to say I was pretty impressed. Germinated one seed using the paper towel method — popped in under 30 hours with a nice thick taproot. Threw it into living soil under a 200W LED and did some early LST to keep the structure low and wide. The plant responded beautifully and stayed squat but bushy, with dark green leaves and fat side branches. Smell during flower was unreal — like creamy berries and diesel. Trichome production really kicked up around week 7, and the buds cured into rock-hard little nuggets. Only complaint is she was a bit finicky with humidity early on — I had to dial things in to prevent minor leaf tacoing. Final smoke is smooth with a creative, buzzy onset. Not a knockout, but not a lightweight either.

First time ordering from these guys and it was pretty seamless. I had a tracking issue (carrier-related), but support got back to me same day. Seeds arrived in good condition. Two weeks into veg now — lush green and thick stems. Happy so far.

I ran one plant in a corner of my garage using only passive airflow and a cheap LED. Germinated directly in a peat plug and it cracked within 36 hours. The structure was compact with tight node spacing and thick stalks. No real stretch in flower. What caught me off guard was the scent during week six, which shifted from light vanilla to a heavy mix of citrus peel and wet earth. Ended up with 102 grams of sticky, dense bud. The high was smooth and balanced with a long-lasting float.
